Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 cups apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, butter, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon until crumbly.
  3. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice and cornstarch.
  5. Spread the apple mixture over the crust in the baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the apples.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • Serve warm with ice cream for an extra treat.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
