A creamy, delicious breakfast recipe that combines the richness of custard with the wholesome goodness of oatmeal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups milk (or almond milk for a dairy-free option)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Fresh fruits for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the rolled oats and milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the oats are tender.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. Slowly add the egg mixture to the cooked oatmeal, stirring constantly to prevent the eggs from scrambling.
  5. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the mixture thickens to a custard-like consistency.
  6. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before serving.
  7. Top with fresh fruits if desired and enjoy your creamy custard oatmeal!

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use whole milk instead of low-fat milk.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar according to your taste.
  • This recipe can be made vegan by substituting eggs with flaxseed meal or chia seeds.
