Delightful flaky croissants filled with your favorite jam, perfect for breakfast or any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold)
  • 1/4 cup jam (your choice)

Instructions

  1. Combine warm milk and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a separate bowl.
  3. Gradually stir in the yeast mixture to form a dough.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes, then let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  5. Roll out the dough and place cold butter in the center. Fold the dough over to encase the butter.
  6. Roll out and fold the dough several times to create layers.
  7. Shape into triangles and roll up from the wide end.
  8. Place on a baking sheet and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden.
  10. Serve warm with your choice of jam.

Notes

For a healthier option, consider sugar substitutes for the jam. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
