Classic Tiramisu

A rich and creamy gluten-free version of the classic Italian Tiramisu, layered with coffee-soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone cheese.

Ingredients

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 24 gluten-free ladyfingers
  • Cocoa powder for dusting
  • Dark chocolate shavings (optional)

Instructions

  1. Whisk together egg yolks and sugar until pale and thick.
  2. Add milk and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. Whip heavy cream in a separate bowl until soft peaks form. Gently fold in mascarpone cheese until smooth.
  4. Combine the cooled egg mixture with the mascarpone mixture.
  5. Dip each ladyfinger quickly into the brewed coffee and layer them in a serving dish.
  6. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, then add another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  7. Dust the top with cocoa powder and refrigerate for at least 240 minutes, preferably overnight, before serving.
