Chocolate Strawberry Mousse Cake Parfaits

Delicious layered parfaits combining rich chocolate cake, airy strawberry mousse, and fresh strawberry compote.

Ingredients

  • 1 chocolate cake, cut into cubes (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup freeze-dried strawberries
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp LorAnn Oils Strawberry Emulsion (optional)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Fresh strawberries, washed and dried
  • Semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  2. Fold in the freeze-dried strawberries and LorAnn Oils Strawberry Emulsion (if using) gently.
  3. Combine fresh strawberries, sugar, water, and lemon juice in a small saucepan.
  4. Cook over medium heat until the mixture thickens.
  5. Melt semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl.
  6. Dip fresh strawberries in the melted chocolate, then place on parchment paper to set.
  7. Layer chocolate cake cubes at the bottom of serving glasses.
  8. Add a layer of strawberry mousse on top.
  9. Spoon some strawberry compote over the mousse.
  10. Repeat the layers until the glasses are filled, ending with a mousse layer.
  11. Top with chocolate-covered strawberries for a beautiful finish.
  12. Serve immediately or chill until ready to serve.
