Delicious baked taquitos filled with creamy chicken and spices, perfect for family gatherings or cozy nights.

  • 10 oz Small flour tortillas (about 10-12 fajita-sized tortillas)
  • 8 oz White cream cheese (softened to room temperature)
  • 2 cups Shredded cooked chicken breast
  • 2 tbsp Cooking oil (for brushing)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Kosher salt
  • 2 tbsp Fresh green cilantro (finely chopped for garnish)
  • 0.5 tsp Red paprika (for dusting)
  • 1 medium Ripe avocado
  • 0.25 cup Sour cream
  • 1 tbsp Lime juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare a baking sheet by greasing it lightly with cooking spray or oil.
  3. Combine the softened cream cheese, shredded chicken, garlic powder, and kosher salt in a mixing bowl. Stir until all ingredients are well blended into a creamy filling.
  4. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the filling mixture onto the center of a tortilla. Roll the tortilla tightly around the filling, folding in the sides as you go.
  5. Place the rolled taquito seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling until all are rolled.
  6. Brush the tops of the taquitos lightly with cooking oil and sprinkle with red paprika for added color.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
  8. Garnish with finely chopped cilantro before serving.
  9. Mash the ripe avocado and mix it with sour cream and lime juice for a delicious dipping sauce.

Notes

These taquitos can be made ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
