A gluten-free adaptation of classic Amish white bread, soft and fluffy with the perfect amount of sweetness.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose gluten-free flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast

Instructions

  1. Dissolve sugar in warm water and then add yeast; let it sit until frothy.
  2. Add oil, salt, and flour gradually, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled in size, about 60 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  7. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool before slicing.
